When did you start working with Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF)?

Briefly describe what you do in your role with GTCF

I am responsible for the growth and well-being of our team and organization in service to our community.

What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?

The people! I get to work with passionate, big-hearted people inside GTCF and in our community.

What other jobs or positions have you held?

Mom. Baskin-Robbins ice cream scooper. Camp Counselor. Regional VP, Construction Program Management. Senior Program Officer, Gates Foundation. Middle school English & language arts teacher.

Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?

Outdoors with my pups and family. Gardening, cooking with friends, outdoor concerts, fishing, quiet evenings in front of a fire with a good book. Painting. Travel to new places.

What activity, place, or event do you recommend other people check out in Pierce County?

Any events from Harbor Wildwatch, Gig Harbor or Nisqually Land Trust. Our world-class museums. Lakewold Gardens & Watsons Nursery. Everything MetroParks. All of our Farmers Markets. The Grand Cinema and Tacoma Theater District venues.

What is the most inspiring book that you have read and why?

Sooooo very hard to choose one. Anything by John McPhee; I want a road trip to follow the history exposed by our geography in Annals of the Former World.
