When did you start working with Greater Tacoma Community Foundation (GTCF)?
November, 2017
Briefly describe what you do in your role with GTCF
I help share stories about our work in the community and spotlight ways that people and organizations are making a difference throughout Pierce County.
What is the most exciting part of your role with GTCF?
You mean besides all the good snacks in the kitchen area?
What other jobs or positions have you held?
I started out as a Teach for America corps member; and spent several years in the classroom teaching Social Studies. I also worked with Puget Sound Educational Service District coordinating a program that provided cultural connection and academic support for Native American Students in Pierce County Schools.
Outside of GTCF, what enjoyable activity do you engage in? What brings you joy?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outside—especially by water, playing/watching basketball, hiking, watching movies, reading books, solving crossword puzzles.
What activity, place, or event do you recommend other people check out in Pierce County?
A walk through the trails at Point Defiance is always nice. I'm also a fan of all the summer events like Farmer's Markets, Art on the Ave and EthnicFest.
