Blackbaud Security Incident Notice

GTCF takes the privacy, protection, and proper use of fundholders’ sensitive personal information very seriously.

In mid-July 2020, GTCF’s database service provider, Blackbaud, informed us they experienced a data security incident between February and May of 2020. Blackbaud informed GTCF that they discovered and stopped the cyberattack on its systems.

Fundholders’ sensitive data with GTCF is secure.

According to Blackbaud, the cybercriminal was not able to access encrypted sensitive identifiable information, like credit card and banking information. It is our understanding the only data possibly breached was publicly available information, like name, mailing address, email address, and phone number.

Blackbaud said law enforcement, including the FBI, have been notified and are conducting investigations into the incident.

GTCF continues to meet all statutory requirements concerning data security and privacy. We have reached out to Blackbaud to make sure they are taking the necessary steps to comply with applicable laws concerning data breaches. Blackbaud has assured us that they have already taken steps to ensure this does not happen again.

Fundholders’ sensitive data with GTCF is secure. We hold all third-party service providers to the same level of premiere service as we do ourselves. We are reviewing our current data protection policies and procedures to ensure they reflect the latest measures necessary in this evolving digital environment.
